Living in Ontario, we’ve realized something over time — you don’t need flights or long vacations to feel like you’ve escaped life. Some of our best memories are just a couple hours’ drive away. This isn’t a checklist. It’s how we actually experience Ontario — slow weekends, spontaneous drives, and those “why don’t we do this more often?” moments.
🚗 Our Go-To Weekend Escapes
Some weekends, we just pick a direction and go. One of our absolute favorites is heading up to the Bruce Peninsula — those unreal cliffside views and turquoise waters still don’t feel like Canada. We usually start early, grab coffee on the way, and just take our time soaking it all in.
Then there are slower, wine-and-food kind of weekends in Prince Edward County. This is where we go when we want to pause — wineries, small cafés, and sunsets that hit different. And when we don’t feel like planning much? Muskoka is always the answer. Lakes, cottages, and that peaceful “doing nothing but everything” feeling.
🌆 The Cities We Never Get Tired Of
We live here, but somehow, these places still surprise us. We’ve lost count of how many times we’ve spent a day in Toronto — trying new food spots, walking by the waterfront, or just chasing that skyline during golden hour. For a slightly slower, more historic vibe, Ottawa always delivers. There’s something about walking around Parliament and along the canal that feels calm but alive. And honestly, Kingston might be one of our underrated favorites — small, charming, and perfect for a relaxed day by the water. Or go little further and enjoy 1000 Islands cruise.
Some of the other favourites are Port Dover – Our go-to for a laid-back beach day, pier walks, and that classic small-town lakeside vibe, Turkey Point – A perfect mix of beach, forest, and quiet escapes when we want nature without the crowds, Port Stanley – Feels like a mini coastal getaway with soft sand, cute cafés, and sunset views we never rush, Port Dalhousie – Close to home and perfect for evening strolls, a carousel ride, and chilled lakeside vibes and Grand Bend – Our summer energy spot for lively beaches, music, and some of the best sunsets in Ontario.
Of course, we keep going back to Niagara Falls too as it’s the closest to home — not just for the falls, but for the little experiences around it.

🌿 When We Need Nature (or a Reset)
Whenever life gets hectic, we just head outdoors. Hiking up the Top of the Giant Trail is one of those experiences that stays with you — the kind where you just stand there quietly at the top.
3 hours drive from home, Lion’s Head Lookout is perfect for a rewarding hike. And sometimes, it’s not about hiking at all — it’s kayaking on Lake Superior or rafting down the Ottawa River when we’re feeling a bit adventurous.
🏡 The Small Towns We Keep Going Back To
These are the places that make Ontario feel special. Elora has this cozy, storybook charm we can’t get enough of — especially around the gorge. We randomly discovered Paris one day, and now it’s one of our favorite quiet escapes. And towns like Almonte and Creemore? Perfect for slow mornings, local cafés, and just wandering without a plan.
Our Favorite “Don’t Miss” Spots
We didn’t realize how many waterfalls Ontario has until we started exploring. Of course, Niagara Falls is iconic — but there’s something equally special about places like Webster’s Falls or Kakabeka Falls. These are the spots we go to when we want that quick nature fix without a full trip.
☕️ The Little Rituals That Make It Ours 🍨
Every trip has one constant: either coffee or Ice cream. Whether it’s a stop at Pilot Coffee Roasters, Kwartha Dairies, Cows Icecream or discovering a new café in a random town, it’s become our thing. Coffee, a walk, and nowhere to rush.
Little Town we call Home 🏡
Tucked along the shores of Lake Ontario, Grimsby is the kind of place we’re grateful to call home. It’s where our everyday life already feels a little like a getaway—morning walks by the water, quick drives to the nearby vineyards, and those quiet sunset views that never get old. We love how it sits perfectly between nature and city life—close enough to Hamilton and Niagara Falls for spontaneous plans, yet peaceful enough to slow things down whenever we need. Whether it’s exploring the colorful charm of the Grimsby Beach Painted Ladies or just grabbing coffee and strolling through town, Grimsby is more than just where we live—it’s part of the experience we’re always sharing together.
❤️ Why We Love Living Here
The best part about living in Ontario? You don’t have to “plan a vacation” to feel like you’re on one. Some weekends are packed with adventure. Others are just a drive, a view, and good company. And honestly, that’s what makes it special — it’s all right here, waiting.
